The Fluke-225C and 215C add Industrial Bus Health Test to the Fluke 190C-series of Color ScopeMeters. Next to that, the full functionality of the Fluke 199C and 196C is included.

Bus Health mode

Industrial Buses (so called ‘Field Buses’) link machinery on the factory floor to each other, to sensors and actuators and to centralized computers or control systems. The Fluke-225C and 215C now offer extensive capabilities to test the proper functioning of the industrial bus by analyzing the electrical signals on the network.

Supported Fieldbus types are:

• AS-i (EN50295, 166 kb/s)
• CAN-bus (ISO-11898, up to 1 Mb/s)
• Modbus (EIA-232 up to 115 kb/s; EIA-485 up to 10 Mb/s)
• Foundation Fieldbus H1 (61158 type 1, 31.25 kb/s)
• Profibus DP (EIA-485 up to 10 Mb/s)
• Profibus PA (61158 type 1, 31.25 kb/s)
• Ethernet 10Base2 (coaxial)
• Ethernet 10BaseT (UTP, 10 Mb/s)
• Ethernet 100BaseT (100 Mb/s)
• RS-232 (EIA-232, up to 115 kb/s)
• RS-485 (EIA-485, up to 10 Mb/s)

New accessory included: BHT190

Set of 3 bus system break-out adapters for DB-9, M12 and RJ-45 connection systems. Each contact of the connector is made accessible for hooking up a probe.
One BHT190 (set of 3 adapters) is included with the 225C and 215C, the adapterset is optionally available to support the Fluke 125. All accessories of the 199C (196C) are also included with the 225C (215C).

Named Set-ups
“Named Set-ups” which allows the user to store his instrument front-panel settings using readable names, e.g. based on the system-under-test or the particular test performed, rather than storing those as a location number.

The full level of functionality of the Fluke 199C is included in the 225C.
The full level of functionality of the Fluke 196C is included in the 215C.

Software Support
FlukeView ScopeMeter (SW90W) is upgraded to version V4.5 per the release of the 225C and 215C. This new version supports the new products, as well as all earlier 190-, 190C- and 190B-models, as well as all 120-series models.
For customers already having a FlukeView package of release V4.x, an upgrade path will be offered through the public websites.

Note: the Bus Health function is not a protocol analyzer but is a tool to investigate the electrical layer of the communications system, giving ‘good’ or ‘no good’ indicators for individual parameters of the electrical system.
